17. This is organised by the Campaign against Climate Change with the
School for Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) Department for
Development Studies. It takes place at the central London
Universities – SOAS, the Institute of Education (IOE) and University
College London (UCL). Opening plenary in IOE, Thornhaugh Street off
Russell Square, Russell Square Tube.

to the session on values (‘We will not achieve environmental justice
without a fundamental shift in values’) 2.30 to 3.45pm on Sunday 17th

2. OPERATION NOAH ANNUAL SUPPORTERS’ MEETING

‘Disarming Denial’, Operation Noah’s annual supporters’ meeting, is on
Saturday 23 June, 11am to 4pm, Wesley Memorial Church, New Inn Hall
Street, Oxford OX1 2DH.
Its one thing to tell someone about climate change, but something else
for them to listen. Operation Noah’s Ash Wednesday Declaration
earlier this year made a clear and prophetic call to the church. For
the message to take root we’ll need to dodge public resistance to the
facts. Paul Kerensa is a stand-up comedian, BBC scriptwriter and
regular on the Greenbelt Festival line-up.
He’ll be exploring the potential of humour for communicating climate
change. Mark Letcher, Operation Noah board member and director of
climate works, will update us on the latest research on getting the
climate message across.
Email admin@operationnoah.org for more information and to book a place.

in. As places are limited please book early to avoid disappointment. Cost: £100.

More information and booking forms available at http://www.greenchristian.org.uk/archives/2752

From the great story of the universe we learn that there is no
disconnection and we are kin in the kin-dom of God with all that is.
What will our faith look and sound like when we embrace that
revelation? Our time will be a Christ-centred and biblically-informed
journey in that great story. We will travel with prophets, psalmists
and cosmologists, singing their songs and telling their stories of
homecoming. We will reflect together on our emerging vocation to be
co-creators with God, asking forgiveness for the plight of the earth
and making straight the way of the Lord in the damaged but still
beautiful world in which we live.

7. CHILDREN OF THE ELEMENTS – THE SUSTAINABILITY STORY FOR IPAD
http://kck.st/Ldm8RG – Delightful handpainted pictures

Given humanity’s increasing demands on Earth’s resources, it’s never
too early to start teaching the next generation lessons about
sustainability and our Ecological Footprint. One of most effective
ways to learn is through story. A brother and sister team, Cecilia and
Gyula Simonyi, have created Children of the Elements, a series of
illustrated interactive stories for the iPad. They envision the app as
a tool for parents to tackle the complex subject with their children.
Cecilia and Gyula have worked with their father, who is the founder
and President of the BOCS Foundation in Hungary, a Global Footprint
Network partner organization.

Children of the Elements is an educational app, hand-painted on 40
screens and presented in English and Hungarian.

And stay up to date by visiting their Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/ChildrenOfTheElements and Cecilia’s blog,
which has new illustrations. http://www.felleg.blogspot.co.uk/
